Michael’s Story: How a Vietnam Veteran went from PTSD to CBD and why he’s saying you should too.

Make 2020 a healthier, happier year.

In many ways, Michael Walsh’s story seems like the typical trajectory for a Vietnam war veteran. Walsh fought in the Vietnam war for two years as a fighter pilot before coming home to New York to start his own family. His past war time stories and accolades are still on the tongues of every new generation in his family but the truth of his path is much different as his CBD testimonial shows.

During his time at war, Walsh suffered three torn ACL’s, two broken ribs, a fractured tailbone and PTSD. 5 years after returning from war, Walsh was also diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. This inflammatory digestive condition is chronic, painful, and can result in debilitating pain and nausea.

  • CBD reduces body aches and pain
  • CBD reduces inflammation
  • CBD helps with arthritis and much more

The stress and anxiety of dealing with expensive medical bills and a failing health system left a chronic toll on Walsh’s digestive tract. Resulting in several surgeries and the final removal of his large intestine.

“Since I was in Vietnam I've been climbing up the potency ladder of pharmaceutical drugs to help treat my illnesses. The amount of crap i’ve put into my body has probably done more damage than good.”

And that’s when Michael Walsh found CBD and changed his life.

Why Walsh Turned to CBD

The pain and stress of dealing with numerous surgeries including the removal of his large intestine, and the residual body aches and anxiety stemming back to his days at war, sent Walsh looking for alternatives to traditional pharmaceutical drugs.

“After years of using pharmaceutical drugs to treat my ulcerative colitis, and tired of dealing with the symptoms of those drugs, I began to research alternative and integrated medicinal treatments with the hopes of finding a treatment strategy that did not rely on these drugs for forever,” says Walsh. “I met and worked with doctors in the field of integrated and functional medicine. I dove into the literature, learning about more natural ways to help heal my gut and improve my immune system’s ability to control inflammation throughout my body.”

The turning point in his recovery came when Walsh discovered Essence CBD oil.

“When I came across GreenLight, I scrolled through a lot of positive testimonials and finally decided to see what all the fuss was about. At first, I couldn’t explain the effects it was having throughout my body…I felt less anxious, my gut felt better, and I was sleeping better.”

Walsh Recommends Essence CBD

Blog: What are the benefits of taking Essence CBD?

Walsh: I could literally write a thesis on all the ways Green Light CBD has proven its ability to reduce pain throughout my entire body. Remember, i’ve gone through more than ten surgeries throughout my life, so pain management is something I have dealt with extensively.

I first realized full-spectrum CBD oil for pain really worked was about five days after the first of my three major abdominal surgeries. Wary of becoming dependent on opiates for pain management after surgery, I was able to supplement my entire prescribed dose of opioids with full-spectrum CBD/hemp oil extract within a week after surgery.

Blog: What were you previously using for treatment?

Walsh: I was prescribed different prescription drugs such a Prozac (an anti-depressive), muscle relaxants (e.g. Diazepam) and weekly injections of strong analgesics (Nimed) until I developed an allergy against these injections. It didn’t matter what I was prescribed, there was always a side effect and it was hard to manage.

Blog: How often do you take CBD oil?

Walsh: Whenever I feel like it. That’s the incredible thing about Green Light CBD, it’s a preventative solution, not a maintenance solution that drug companies profit from through your subscriptions. I will take CBD oil when I feel a bit off, it’s not something I rely on.

Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Dr. Oz on CBD Oil

According to Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a leading American neurosurgeon, “two-thirds of Americans are familiar with CBD, and 1 in 5 have tried it. Most of the country, 98%, are in favor for medicinal medicines derived from CBD”

The science behind CBD over the last six years has grown by leaps and bounds, as well. Epidiolex, a pharmaceutical-grade CBD oil, went through clinical trials and is being prescribed for millions of patients with seizures, anxiety, depression, body aches, pain, and inflammatory illnesses.

Last year, in a single moment, the legislation around CBD, a non-psychoactive component of cannabis, changed. With the passage of the Farm Bill, hemp, defined as any cannabis plant with 0.3% THC or less, became legal to grow, sell, and consume. For the cannabis community, it was like suddenly drinking from a fire hose in the middle of a drought. One day, it was taboo wrapped in decades of stigma, and now it is sold at the corner store.
