Princeton University Team Discovers New Method To Break Smoking Addiction

Princeton University - A small team of researchers conducted a double-blind study to assess whether high grade CBD Oil could be effective at treating nicotine addiction. The findings from the study were not only astonishing to the researchers, but also to the medical community.

The idea that CBD may be useful as an aid to stop smoking cigarettes and quell cravings has been around for a long time. Anecdotal evidence has shown that CBD helps treat cigarette addiction and it has been mounting for years. Small preliminary studies were conducted in 2018 - and fortunately since then, our understanding of CBD oil and its effect on cigarette addiction has been verified. The results have demonstrated to be incredibly promising.

What is CBD Oil?

CBD oil is a popular and natural remedy used for many common ailments. Gaining wide acclaim for its miraculous benefits, the medical community has been forced to take notice. Only a handful of United States CBD companies have gone through the process to gain legal FDA approval to be able to be used in a laboratory setting. We chose New Leaf CBD because we believe their product is at the forefront of innovation.

“Smokers’ brains have learned to smoke, and just like unlearning to ride a bike, it is incredibly hard to unlearn that simple, mildly rewarding behavior of lighting up a cigarette. CBD oil can be a great aid to counter this behavior and treat it at it’s source. In short, it eliminates the reasons why smokers want to smoke in the first place.” - Says Dr. Neha Gupta.

What the CBD Study Revealed

The research took 8-16 weeks to conduct, however, within the first 2 weeks it was evident that individuals in the New Leaf CBD group experienced a major difference in their nicotine dependency. Their need to smoke significantly subsided due to New Leaf CBD intake.

In the course of this research, the number of times both groups smoked was measured in order to see their addiction levels dropping or spiking. In the placebo group, there was no difference in how many times they felt the urge to smoke.

However, in the New Leaf CBD group, the number of potential cigarettes smoked dropped by 71%! The results also indicated “some maintenance of this effect at follow-up.”

Sydney Clifford, MD, medical director at Princeton University and lead researcher was bewildered by the positive effects of New Leaf CBD. She decided to take the study further and examine in detail of the outstanding factors that were prominent in the analysis.

Dr. Clifford took the participants from the pro CBD study-group and abstained them from smoking for 24 hours and continued to give them New Leaf CBD. In sessions she showed them images of ashtrays, lighters, mixed with neutral photos of a woman applying lipstick instead of putting a cigarette into her mouth.

The individuals in this group as opposed to the control group experienced no cravings or withdrawal from nicotine. Instead, some of them even found cigarette cues less appealing. This study reinforced to Dr. Clifford, that by taking New Leaf CBD and targeting specific neurocognitive processes it turned off users from wanting to smoke.

Dr. Clifford states, “Results like these are truly exciting. This is why I enjoy my job so much; I feel that the work we are doing is really going to make a difference in people’s lives. New Leaf CBD is a complete game changer for those suffering from nicotine addiction. The natural healing properties that can be found in CBD are astonishing, and I wish I knew about it sooner.”

Dr. Clifford decided to enroll her husband into the study as he has been a lifelong smoker and suffered from severe anxiety. Her husband was also diagnosed with arthritis causing him chronic pain and inflammation. However, due to this research study that was conducted by his wife he was able to relieve his pain and combat his addiction to nicotine.

“My husband feels like he’s been given a second chance at a life with less pain and without cigarettes.”

Companies like New Leaf CBD are making products that make the grade for being superior in quality compared to other brands. Their products are made in small batches to ensure quality. Transparency is important, that’s why every bottle is double third-party, post formulation tested, with lab reports listed by batch number on the product pages. It’s very important for those looking to try this on their own to use the best product that they can find.

How Does New Leaf CBD Oil Break the Cycle of Nicotine Addiction?

New Leaf CBD oil activates the brain’s F-HT1A receptor, which is responsible for boosting serotonin in a similar way that smoking does.

Nicotine stimulates the release of dopamine, which translates to the feelings of calmness and mental relief associated with cigarette smoking. (New Leaf CBD is also being researched as a potential aid in managing depression.) So, CBD oil may help reduce the stress, anxiety, and irritability associated with attempts to quit smoking.

More than just elevating mood, CBD oil can help reduce some of the physical symptoms of quitting cigarettes. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, CBD oil may be able to reduce the headaches and other pains experienced when giving up nicotine.

Princeton Alumni Donates $10 Million for Further Research

In an announcement Tuesday, Eric Stein said he is donating $10 million in support of research into how CBD oil can be turned into a mainstream solution for nicotine addiction.

It is, according to the university, “the single largest donation to date to support independent research of CBD.”

Stein said the gift was driven by a desire “My mother died of lung cancer and I want to fill the research void that currently exists in the science of CBD.”

Princeton Alumni, Eric Stein, donated $10 million towards research supporting CBD oil and nicotine addiction.

Results - New Leaf CBD may be able to help!

1. In the morning, take one dropper full of New Leaf CBD with a glass of water.

Week One:

One week after taking New Leaf CBD I was surprised at the dramatic results. My energy level was up, and I wasn't feeling anxious like I usually do when I go without my cigarettes. A welcomed side effect of New Leaf CBD is its power to relieve anxiety and promote a sense of calm.

Best of all, I didn't even change anything about my daily routine. On Day 7, I was not feeling the urge to smoke as much but I was still smoking at least twice a day.

Week Three:

After 3 weeks, all my doubts and skepticism had absolutely vanished! I was not feeling the urge to smoke like I usually do. It’s hard to explain, I just felt like I could take it or leave it. It may not sound like much to someone who doesn’t smoke but a lifelong smoker understands what an improvement that is.

Week Five:

On the fifth week, my final results were shocking. I completely killed my addiction for smoking. I don’t know if it’s the CBD or just my body responding but the thought or even the smell of a cigarette makes me feel nauseous. The results are truly amazing.

I don’t have any side effects or withdrawals that are common with a lot of anti-smoking prescriptions/plans. My energy levels are high, I feel amazing and I can truly say this product works.
